Lucy Minerals Make-up Review!

Today’s post is all about healthy make-up options! And a special make-up brand in particular 🙂

As we may all know, many people desire to live healthy lifestyles. We workout. *fist bump* 😎 We choose healthy food options at restaurants/grocery stores *high five* — But, there are a lot of people who are unaware of (or just don’t pay attention to) what’s inside the products they use on a daily basis. Many well-known, trusted product brands contain harmful ingredients that absorb into the skin and can potentially have long-term effects. A lot of ‘every day’ products used by the average person (i.e. make-up, body wash, lotion, shampoo, etc.) contain sulfates, preservatives (parabens, etc.) and/or unnecessary disguised chemicals. I haven’t thrown away all of my products that contain harmful ingredients, but I am definitely working on phasing them out. However, I am happy that I have found a make-up line that I trust and truly believe in.

After researching the ingredients in the drug-store make-up I used to buy, which included parabens (again, preservative), I began looking for a make-up brand that contained simple, safe ingredients, and could still be as effective and give the same full-coverage look as my other foundation. That’s when I came across “Lucy Minerals.” LM make-up products are hand-blended, natural looking, full of antioxidants & natural SPF and are free of preservatives and chemicals. I have used LM foundation for awhile now and I can honestly say it is an amazing product and I am so glad I found it! It’s so light that it feels like I am not even wearing make-up! At the same time, it gives a great medium to full-coverage look when applied in light layers, as it is a creamy loose mineral foundation. This make-up can cover common skin issues (rosacea, blemishes, dark spots, scars, etc.) ; safely and effectively – unlike other mineral foundations out there. It has been a life changing delight since I began using this product. As my sister says, LM is an “organic product minus the cancer-causing-glow-in-the dark ingredients.” 🙂  Which is so true. Check the ingredients of the products you use – especially the ones you use daily… ‘What you put on your body is what you put in your body.’

Some LM basic information you should know: There are four different mineral foundation formulas. The Original formula is the most popular, containing: zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, mica, magnesium stearate, iron oxides, allantoin, apple poly, green coffee bean extract, trans-resveratrol and magnesium ascorbyl phosphate. Next, there are 2 Oil-Control formulas that have the same ingredients as the original, except one formula contains Silica and the other contains Calcium Carbonate, which are both oil-controlling ingredients. Lastly, there is the Lucy Light formula. This formula gives you the same coverage as the others, but with no added antioxidants for those with extra sensitive skin. Annie, the creator of LM, specifically and carefully designed these four formulas in an effort to meet the different types of skin needs of her customers. How awesome is that?! Indie brands like this add a special touch of personal care that you won’t find anywhere else. I love that about these types of companies ❤  All you have to do is find your shade, choose your formula and place your order!  “Try-it” size foundation samples are available for $2.50. And if needed,  you can custom-blend shades for the perfect match at no extra cost!!! 😀  How cool is that?! Leave a comment if you’ve ever tried this makeup or if you are considering trying it out! I’d be happy to answer any questions 🙂 ❤
